This pair of Central Coast wines from Ballard Lane is combined with a delicious bottle of sparkling brut from Scharffenberger. The three bottles make a perfect asssortment for the holidays and are presented in a gift box with festive hand tied bow:
2022 Ballard Lane Chardonnay-
A medium-bodied wine with a velvety texture, offering a luxurious mouthfeel. The flavors mirror the aromas, with flavors of sun-kissed orchard fruits like golden apples and ripe pears. A deft touch of oak imparts subtle layers of creamy caramel and soft baking spices.
2021 Ballard Lane Pinot Noir-
Flavors of ripe berry character finish with hints of toasted french oak, toffee, and almonds. It has a soft and velvety texture of youthful tannins creating a firm, full mouthfeel.
Scharffenberger Brut Excellence-
Made by the traditional méthode champenoise process – whereby the wines are individually bottle-fermented before being riddled and disgorged. The wine is approximately two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay and undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation. Scharffenberger Brut is made from its own 120-acre vineyards in the Anderson Valley. In addition, Scharffenberger Cellars has long-term contracts with select vineyards in the greater Mendocino County. This entire region has proven to be ideal for producing world class sparkling wine!
91 Points, Editors' Choice, Wine Enthusiast - "This is a beautiful brut, easily worth its price. It shows the fancy elegance of more expensive bubblies, with its refined texture and rich but subtle flavors of strawberries, peaches and brioche."
